Boy dies after fall into grain bin

July 28, 2003 By admin

The late-night mischief of a couple of north-central Iowa boys turned tragic. A 12-year-old Story City boy died early Sunday morning after falling into an empty grain bin in Roland. The boy, Isiah Peter, and his 15-year-old brother sneaked away from the house and met up with two 14-year-old boys. The four boys climbed a grain bin at the Heartland Co-op. As they walked across, Isaiah fell through an open hatch and landed on the floor, 56 feet below. The boys got help but paramedics could not revive the boy.
