Tonight’s action at the state high school softball tournament has been postponed by rain. Overnight rain followed by a steady drizzle prompted tournament official to postpone tonight’s action which included the opening round in class 3A and the last two first round contests in 2A. Games will resume at five tomorrow and tonight’s games will replace the original Wednesday night slate. That will move Wednesday’s 1A semifinal round to Thursday. Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union executive secretary Troy Dannen says the revised schedule will preserve the Friday night title games. Dannen says the format gives them an extra afternoon, so as long as they don’t get rained out Thursday night, they can keep the championships on Friday.Consolation games will now be played Thursday afternoon and the 1A semifinals, originally set for Wednesday will now be played on Thursday.
