Iowa Guardmember to be laid to rest Thursday

The Iowa National Guardmember who died of heat stroke while he served in Iraq will be buried Thursday in eastern Iowa. Thirty-one-year-old private first class David Kirchhoff of Anamosa died of heat stroke in a military hospital in German August 14th. He’d been serving in Iraq with the 2168th transportation company in Cedar Rapids as a truck driver. His funeral is Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids.
