The 23rd ranked Iowa Hawkeyes will be heavily favored when they host a Buffalo team on Saturday that is riding the nations’ longest losing streak. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says the focus on his team should be on getting better and the results will follow. He says if the team goes out and plays well and comes out injury free, that would be a perfect world. Ferentz says he would like to give some of the reserves, including quarterback Drew Tate, a chance to play but will not prepare for it. He says it’s nice if you have the opportunity to do that, it’s nice, but he says they’ll go into the game trying to win as the first priority.Ferentz felt the inexperienced offensive line graded out well in its first test, with a lot of typical first game mistakes. He says the tempo has to get a little better, but there were some good things that happened. Ferentz says at this point the Hawkeyes cannot afford to take any team lightly.
