A woman is dead and a man remains in critical condition after a shooting in northeastern Iowa’s Chickasaw County. Chickasaw County authorities say the shooting near the small town of North Washington happened late Friday or early Saturday morning. 22-year-old Rachel Fisher was shot and killed at a farmhouse, while her boyfriend, 39-year-old Rick Devries, was shot in the chest. Devries was taken to a Rochester, Minnesota hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Police say Devries called for help from a neighbor’s house following the shootings. Both Fisher and Devries had recently moved to the area from Floyd and worked in New Hampton. The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department says the incident does not look like a random shooting, and they’re asking for the public’s help with any information on the case. No arrests have been made.
