This season’s first deer hunter death is reported in western Iowa. A 64-year-old man from Walnut died last night in an apparent hunting accident. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says Carter Dale Lynch fell from a deer stand and suffered fatal injuries. Lynch had been hunting the border of Shelby and Pottawattamie Counties. An autopsy is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
