McCarney hopes his team is refreshed after week off

November 3, 2003 By admin

Iowa State coach Dan McCarney hopes his Cyclones are re-freshed and ready to go. The Cyclones were idle last week and take a 2-6 record into this weekend’s home game against Kansas State. He says the mental attitude and practices have been going well, and he expects them to be ready to play. With two of their final four games against contenders in the Big-12 North Division race the Cyclones can play the role of spoiler. McCarney says they don’t use that terminology, he says they just try to coach and play with a passion to finish the season on a strong note. McCarney says practices were spirited last week and the Cyclones look forward to the final month of the season. He says that’s a good sign that no-one is giving up.
