Drake women look to improve on 1-2 record

December 5, 2003 By admin

The Drake women continue a difficult non-conference schedule with a game at home against Michigan. The Bulldogs are 1-2 while the Wolverines are 5-3 under former Southwest Missouri State coach Cheryl Burnett. Drake coach Amy Stephens says Michigan has great players with great experience returning, and it may be a bit more than a young team like Drake can handle. She says the focus is to get better in each practice and in each game, and she says so far, her team has accomplished that. Stephens says taking care of the ball will have a big say in tonight’s outcome as Michigan will play tough defense.
