Drake outscored Iowa State 30-2 to end the game as the Bulldogs roared away for a 61-36 victory over the Cyclones Wednesday night in the Knapp Center. Drake coach Amy Stephens praised the defensive effort by her team as they bounced back from a loss Sunday. Iowa State shot just under 28-percent for the game and the performance left coach Bill Fennelly searching for answers on his postgame show on the Cyclone Network. He says a lot of people didn’t do their job and with 13 minutes to go in the game they just couldn’t get anything done. He says it was one of the nights when he wonders why he wants to be a coach. Fennelly said the Cyclones were “terrible” in every facet of the game. He says he’s embarrassed and he apologized to every player whoever put on a Iowa State uniform in the last nine years.
