Missing plane found down in field

A small plane missing since late yesterday has apparently been found west of Newton, near Interstate-80.The plane took off at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon from Chicago, headed for the Ankeny Airport just north of Des Moines. K-G-R-N reporter Don Bradley is working the story from his newsroom in Grinnell, and he says they’ve pin-pointed the location of the crash. Bradley says that plane’s been found in a field south of the city of Brooklyn, just north of Interstate-80, near the Brooklyn raceway. Bradley says he’s getting unconfirmed reporter that it was a Piper Cub, which is a single-engine plane that can carry up to four passengers.
