Police in Cedar Falls have broken up an international fraud ring. The ring involves items purchased in the United States with fraudulent credit cards from various countries. The merchandise was shipped to an address in Cedar Falls, then forwarded to Africa. After receiving a phone tip, authorities say they discovered more than 30 boxes of items that were being prepared for shipment. The items included stereos, cell phones, computer monitors, D-V-D players and others, all valued at about 10-thousand dollars. Officials say the items were shipped to a Cedar Falls house over a three-dayperiod. They say someone ordered the merchandise using stolen credit cards, some of which were from Australia, London, and Rhode Island. No arrests have been made in case. Authorities continue to investigate.
