Beth Huston’s three-pointer with 35-seconds remaining gave Illinois State the lead for good as the Redbirds downed Drake 57-54 in Missouri Valley Conference women’s basketball action on Sunday. Huston’s basket came after Drake missed a chance at a defensive rebound. Drake coach Amy Stephens says they let up for a brief second and they got beat. She says she was pleased with the effort, despite the loss. She says they competed far better than they have, but she says they need more consistency. Drake rallied early in the second half after trailing 30-21 at the break.Drake is 5-6 in the Valley and 8-12 overall.
