February 20, 2004 By admin

A semi-truck driver reportedly tried to ram his wife’s car — with her in it — on Interstate 35 this morning, between Ames and Des Moines. Highway Patrol spokesman Jim Saunders says the potentially lethal situation was diffused quickly south of the capitol city.He says the suspect was taken into custody without incident or pursuit in a lumber yard parking lot in Indianola. Saunders says the suspect was wanted on several Story County warrants and there was concern he wouldn’t give up quietly.Story County Sheriff’s officials identify the suspect as 52-year-old Daniel Lee Erickson, though they released no hometown. He was wanted on warrants including: harrassment and impersonating a police officer. Colleen Erickson was not hurt.
