Iowa hopes for tournament victory for NCAA boost

March 5, 2004 By admin

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder feels a 10-6 Big Ten record should get the Hawkeyes into the NCAA Tournament but a little insurance never hurts. The Hawks take the fourth-seed into the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis this afternoon against fifth seeded Michigan State. Bluder says regardless of how the tournament plays out the Hawks deserve to go dancing, but she says she’d feel better winning a game or two in the tournament.Iowa won the only matchup of the season with Michigan State in East Lansing and the Spartans and coach Joanne P. McCallie will be out for revenge.
