The newly elected president of Iowa’s Future Farmers of America is excited about taking on the job. Formerly vice-president of the north-central FFA region, Jenna Maubach was elected during the wrap-up of the state FFA conference in Ames this week. She was “ecstatic” to be voted in, and says she’s really looking forward to the next year. There are about 12-thousand members and 34 chapters in the state FFA, and Maubauch’s been very active throughout the years. She’s been involved since her freshman year of high school, moving up from member to a local officer and then an officer at the organization’s state level. Maubach says the group has a full calendar of upcoming events and activities. There will be a couple of district camps early in June, and the FFA will be at the state fair to introduce people to the organization, and she says this year middle-schoolers will be invited to join. Maubach’s term runs for one year.
