Oelwein teens take 400 mile joy ride

April 14, 2004 By admin

Three Oelwein teenagers are back home after a 400 mile joy ride in a borrowed car. The three seventh graders, Krista Webb, Samantha Wilson and Josh Riggel, were reported missing early Tuesday. The three had apparently borrowed one of the family’s cars and apparently planned to drive it coast-to-coast. One of the teens left a note claiming they were going on an “adventure.” An all-points bulletin was issued, and the three were stopped in Vandalia, Illinois — east of St. Louis. None of the three have driver’s licenses, but no charges have been filed.
