The state auditor is probing the finances of a sheriff’s office in southwest Iowa. The auditor has launched an investigation of the Cass County Sheriff’s office after Sheriff Larry Jones allegedly used three-thousand dollars in county money to help buy a used S-U-V on the Internet auction website E-Bay without the approval of county supervisors and without taking bids. Reports say the Chevy Tahoe was purchased for the Cass County Attorney using another nine-thousand dollars from an un-audited fund.
