The alleged gunman in a January shooting in Mount Pleasant has pleaded guilty. On January 24th this year, Sergio Pulido of Fort Madison shot and killed 27-year-old David Rivera of West Liberty in the Lomont Molding parking lot. Pulido then shot his wife, 28-year-old Jesusita Urquiza-Carbajal several times before turning the gun on himself. His wife was severely injured; Pulido suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest. Pulido today pleaded guilty to a count of second degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
