Car, semi collide in Cass County; one man dies

August 9, 2004 By admin

A northwest Iowa man is dead after his car collided with a semi-truck last night in southwest Iowa. The state patrol says 23-year-old Ross Blanchard of Spencer crossed the center line of a Cass County road and struck a semi nearly head-on. The truck was driven by 33-year-old Douglas Daily of Carroll. Daily was not seriously hurt. The wreck happened about 6 PM Sunday on Highway 71, some three miles south of Atlantic. Troopers say neither driver had been wearing a seat belt.
