UNI junior runningback key to Panther play

August 18, 2004 By admin

The UNI football team is hoping for an encore performance from running back Terrance Freeney. Last year as a sophomore, Freeney earned All-Conference honors and was named the Gateway Conference Newcomer of the year. He set a school record by rushing for 1261-yards and tied another by scoring 16-touchdowns. The Cedar Falls native says the Panthers have their eyes set on the National Championship this season. Last year, the Panthers averaged 212-yards rushing a game. With the return of Freeney and Richard Carter, the Panthers are hoping for a stronger running attack this season. The Panthers open September 4th at Iowa State.
