Over 300-thousand Iowans cast their votes early this year, but approximately 100-thousand absentee ballots were unaccounted for yesterday. Some may have been mailed recently, and they’ll be counted if the envelope bears a November 1st postmark. If you asked for and received an absentee ballot, didn’t use it and now want to vote today, you are to take that absentee ballot to your precinct. Secretary of State Chet Culver is the state’s Commissioner of Elections. “We encourage you to find your absentee ballot if you’ve misplaced it,” Culver says. But if you can’t find it, Culver says to notify an election official at the precinct or your county auditor’s office and they’ll ensure you can vote.
