Iowa women fall to 0-2 in Big Ten

January 10, 2005 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeye women suffered their second straight loss on Sunday. The Hawkeyes fell behind by 16-points in the opening half and never recovered in a 68-56 loss at sixth-ranked Michigan State. Jamie Cavey led Iowa with 21-points and eight rebounds after missing part of the first half with an injury.Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says she thougth they came out and played well early, but the last 11 minutes of the first half were ugly. Bluder says it psyched the entire team out when Jamie Cavey went down after being hit in the nose. The Hawkeyes are 13-2 and it won’t get any easier as they visit Ohio State this week. Bluder says they can’t go in there with the same attitude they had in the last two games.
