Johanna Solverson hit a pair of freee throws with 2:42 remaining to give Iowa the lead for good as the Hawkeyes rallied from a 17-point secon half deficit to beat Northwestern 81-76 in Iowa City to snap a three game losing streak. “I’m just really thrilled to have a win,” Hawkeye coach Lisa Bluder said afterwards. Her team was behind 15 points with 15 minutes to go in the game and Bluder says the Hawkeyes got themselves in trouble because of turnovers. At half-time, the team had 15 turnovers. The Hawks committed another seven in the second half. “It really came down to us taking care of the basketball,” Bluder says. Bluder says she wasn’t happy with her team’s defense, either. Iowa is 3-3 in the Big Ten and 14-3 overall.
