Nebraska woman charged in Des Moines murder case

April 15, 2005 By admin

Nebraska woman is charged in a central Iowa murder case that went unsolved for more than five years. The body of 43-year-old Patrick McRae was found on the blood-spattered front porch of his Des Moines home in October of 1999. McRae was a video producer at Iowa Public TV and police had no luck tracking any suspects. Until now. Investigators say some of the blood at the crime scene wasn’t his. D-N-A evidence led authorities to Lincoln, Nebraska, where Thursday they arrested 29-year-old Andrea Morris. Police say she’d been acquainted with the victim. Morris is being held on a first-degree murder charge in Lincoln, pending extradition to Iowa.
