Allianz ready to move to Polk City

The Allianz Championship is ready to move to its new home. After being held at the Glen Oaks Country Club for its first four years the Champions Tour event will be held at the Tournament Club of Iowa near Polk City. D.A. Weibring will try to defend his title on a new course. He says he’s proud to have won in Des Moines and as he completes his second year on the champions tour he says his Midwest roots may the tournaments here special. Weibring has done well in the midwest. Two of his PGA tournament wins were in the Quad Cities and last year’s win in the Allianz was his second on the Champions Tour. This is the 25th year for the Champions Tour and Weibring says the new course will be fan friendly and offer great views. He says the best thing they do is bring good quality golf competition and entertainment.This year’s tournament begins on June third.
