Electrolux workrs in Webster City approve contract

July 1, 2005 By admin

There’s a brand-new contract for Hamilton County’s largest employer. Members of U-A-W 443 in Webster City approved a new 3-year deal with Electrolux Home Products for a new contract that’ll run through June 2008. They overwhelmingly approved the new contract at a membership meeting Thursday afternoon at Jefferson gymnasium. The contract included company contributions to a 401-K plan, wage increases, more vacation, and improvements in the holiday schedule. It’s the second vote on the contract this month — on June 11, the rank-and-file membership turned the contract down, and officials of the UAW local and Electrolux have been meeting behind closed doors to hammer out this new deal, which won approval in Thursday’s vote.
