Two sought in Harpers Ferry bank robbery

October 19, 2005 By admin

Two suspects are still on the run after a bank robbery Tuesday in the far northeastern Iowa town of Harpers Ferry. The Allamakee County Sheriff says a branch of the Kerndt Brothers Savings Bank was held up around 9 A.M. The suspect entered the bank dressed in a brown leather coat, jeans, boots and a black motorcycle helmet. The suspect displayed a note, demanding money and left with an untold amount of cash. The suspect fled on a small black motorcycle as a passenger, with the driver similarly dressed. The FBI has joined the investigation.
