Charges have been filed in a disappearance in north-central Iowa. At a late-afternoon news conference Wednesday, Floyd County Attorney Marilyn Dettmer announced that first-degree murder charges have been filed against 24-year-old James Raymond of Waterloo in the disappearance of Jesse Wade Patchin. His family says they haven’t seen Patchin since the first of October, and a week after that they filed a missing-persons report. Authorities put out a public alert last week for the 20-year-old and searched an area south of Charles City. Nobody’s found Patchin, or his body. The DCI joined the search and the Floyd County Attorney says they also want to talk to a 54-year-old man from Lime Springs who’s a material witness.
