Body of missing Lake View man found

January 12, 2006 By admin

Authorities in Sac County have recovered the body of a Lake View man who was reported missing by his family a week and a half ago. The body of 37-year-old Dennis Lee McLaughlin was discovered yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon along the shoreline of a gravel pit located south of lake view. The body was discovered by a person walking along an area recreational trail.

McLaughlin was last seen on Christmas Eve day, but was not reported missing by family members until January first. Authorities had conducted several searches of the game reserve and pit area south of Lake View, including a fly-over on Tuesday of this week, but hadn’t been able to find the man. The Sac County Medical Examiner’s office has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
