Man accused in Fort Dodge assault and arson appears in court

January 12, 2006 By admin

The man accused of sexually assaulting a Fort Dodge woman and then setting her house on fire appeared in Webster County court Wednesday. 34-year-old Sessions Harper is facing charges of attempted murder, arson and sexual abuse in connection with the fire last Sunday morning.

The woman was discovered bound in her basement by firefighters. Harper was arrested yesterday in Des Moines and was later brought to Fort Dodge, with bond set at two-and-a-half million dollars. The unnamed 22-year-old woman is still listed in critical condition at the burn unit of University Hospitals in Iowa City.
