Iowa man to appear in Minnesota court

January 23, 2006 By admin

A northeast Iowa man accused of a murder in southeast Minnesota more than two years ago is scheduled to make his first court appearance today (Monday). Twenty-three-year-old Justin Meyer of New Albin is accused of killing 27-year-old Mark Sullivan in Caledonia in December of 2003. Sullivan was dating Meyer’s ex-girlfriend at the time…and after the killing Meyer kidnapped her and their child and fled to Iowa. He was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for kidnapping and now Iowa officials have completed their paperwork to transfer Meyer to Minnesota, allowing the murder case to proceed.
