Public Health holds poster contest

January 28, 2006 By admin

The Iowa Department of Public Health is looking for budding Iowa artists to create an emergency preparedness poster. Spokesperson Nicole Peckumn says the poster contest theme is “Protect Iowa Health: Prepare Because You Care” and the contest is open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders.

She says they’ll select a grand prize winner from all entries and the poster will be distributed statewide in the spring and summer. Peckumn says the creators of the top posters will get a prize. She says the grand prize winner will receive a 200-dollar savings bond. There will also be runnerup prizes. The contest runs through February 24th.
