Minnesota woman to face prison time in Iowa mother’s death

March 29, 2006 By admin

A Minnesota woman accused of contributing to the death of her mother in Sac County, Iowa, last fall is ordered to serve time in prison. Twenty-eight-year-old Tara Bryant of Byron, Minnesota, was sentenced this week in Sac County District Court to five years in prison after she pleaded guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

Carol Bryant was found dead in her home in Auburn last September. An investigation revealed that Tara Bryant had given her mother a dose of methadone, which resulted in her death. Tara Bryant is being held in the Sac County Jail awaiting transportation to the Iowa Department of Corrections.
