Search on for missing grave markers in Southwest Iowa

April 6, 2006 By admin

Authorities in Southwest Iowa are asking for the public’s help in locating stolen grave markers. Montgomery County Sheriff’s officials say 35 copper veterans’ grave markers were taken from the Mamreland Cemetery located east of Stanton on Highway 34, around March 25th.

Officials say it’s possible someone grabbed the markers and are planning on melting them down to cash-in on their value. If you have any information, call Crimestoppers at 1-800-432-1001. You will not have to give your name.
