SW IA woman charged with animal theft

July 5, 2006 By admin

A southwest Iowa woman was arrested over the weekend and charged with animal theft after she took some dogs to a vet for treatment and arranged foster care for the animals.

Sheriff’s officials in Montgomery County say 42-year old Rose Marie Fister, of Hastings, Iowa, was taken into custody following an investigation into the theft of three dogs. Authorities recovered two of the animals that were stolen June 26th from homes in Omaha and Council Bluffs.

Fister faces misdemeanor charges of one count each of third-degree theft and fourth degree theft. She was held in the Montomery County jail until she posted an $8400 bond.
