Marshalltown brothers sentenced on drug charges

July 12, 2006 By admin

A District Court in Marshalltown has handed long sentences to two brothers convicted on drug charges. Thirty–six-year-old Martin Ruiz Singh was sentenced to life on charges including conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Forty-one-year-old David Ruiz Singh was sentenced to 20-years for drug and weapons charges. District Judge Ronald Longstaff also ordered each brother to serve ten years of supervised release after their prison terms.

A jury back in February found the Sigh brothers guilty of distributing twenty pounds of meth over seven years starting in March of 1998. Both of the sentences were enhanced because of prior felony drug convictions.
