Marshalltown murder trial set to begin

Jury selection’s complete and the trial is likely to begin today (Wednesday) for a Marshalltown man facing murder charges. Opening statements are scheduled for 9 AM today (Wednesday) in Marshall County District Court in the trial of the man accused of killing 41-year-old Laurie Ann Reyes of Marshalltown.

The jury of ten men and four women, along with two alternates, were chosen Tuesday to hear the case against 39-year-old Pedro Perez. Reyes was found dead in her apartment on May 16th of last year, and Perez is thought to be the last person to see her alive.
