Special traffic enforcement taking place on Highway 20, 30

July 20, 2006 By admin

Law enforcement agencies across Iowa are taking part in a special traffic safety project today (Thursday) along the corridors of Highways 20 and 30. The Iowa State Patrol, area sheriff’s departments and local police will take part in “Operation Double Aught.”

Officers will be targeting impaired drivers, seatbelt and child restraint use, and other traffic violations. The goal is to raise Iowa’s seat belt usage rate from the current 89%, reduce impaired driving incidents, and prevent traffic accidents. Law enforcement will also patrol the roads that connect to Highways 20 and 30.
