Man injured in fight at Iowa State Fair

August 14, 2006 By admin

A man who was severely injured Sunday in a fight at the Iowa State Fair is recovering at a Des Moines hospital. It’s still not known what started the scuffle, but authorities say someone hit 23-year-old Tony Sitzman of Osceola, and he fell over, hitting his head on concrete.

Sitzman was rushed to Mercy Medical Center for brain surgery where his condition was upgraded from critical to serious. State D-C-I investigators arrested two men who were reportedly involved in the fight. Twenty-six-year-old Daniel Haub of Grand River is charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication while 23-year-old Brandon Quayle of Weldon faces public intox. More charges may be pending.
