September 18, 2006 By admin

Iowa linebacker Mike Klinkenborg has been named the Walter Camp Football Foundation Defensive Player of the Week. Klinkenborg helped Iowa to a 27-17 win over Iowa State Saturday, just six days following the death of his father.

Klinkenborg, a junior from Rock Rapids, Iowa, record eight tackles in helping the Hawkeye defense keep Iowa State scoreless for the final 23 minutes of the contest. He is Iowa’s leading tackler after three games with 31 stops.
