Missing teen found dead, foul play not suspected

November 10, 2006 By admin

The search for a missing teenager in northeastern Iowa has ended tragically. Sixteen-year-old Brian Paul Burke was found dead in a grassy area about a quarter mile southeast of his home yesterday. He had apparently died of a single gunshot wound.

Foul play is not suspected in Burke’s death, though an autopsy will be performed by the state medical examiner’s office. Burke was first reported missing earlier this week. His mother had contacted authorities after not being able to find him Tuesday morning. He was last seen alive at about 9:30 Monday night.
