Southwest Iowa man charged with threatening wife’s employer

December 1, 2006 By admin

A southwest Iowa man upset over his wife’s treatment at her job is now charged with making threats of violence. The Union County Sheriff?s Department arrested Douglas Brightwell of Creston on a Union County warrant for two counts of first-degree harassment.

According to court documents; Brightwell had a conversation with employees at the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, during which he removed two bullets from his pocket and said the two bullets had two names on them, for two administration officials at the medical center.

The hospital’s director of public relations and marketing says medical center employees turned the matter over to Union County law-enforcement officials and that the hospital cooperated with law enforcement to ensure the safety of patients, the public, and employees.
