Iowa to face Texas in Alamo Bowl

The Iowa football team faces a huge challenge in the December 30th Alamo Bowl. The Hawks will take on defending nation champion Texas in San Antonio.

The Longhorns accepted a bid after the Gator Bowl selected west Virginia to play Georgia tech in its game. Texas was denied the Big-12 south division title with a loss to Texas [email protected] in the final game of the season and stand 9-3.

The Hawkeyes lost five of their last six games to finish 6-6 and figure to be a substantial underdog in the game.
