Popular Council Bluffs attraction closing

December 13, 2006 By admin

A popular tourism event in western Iowa is shutting down operations. The Renaissance Faire of the Midlands, an event that drew thousands of people to the WestFair grounds in Council Bluffs each June for the last 23 years, announced today that the Faire will no longer be held.

Ron Hopp, president of the Renaissance Faire of the Midlands board of directors, says it was no longer financially viable to continue holding the Faire. The Faire’s assets will be sold, with proceeds going to the Bluffs Arts Council, an organization that supports arts programs in the Council Bluffs area.
