Trial set for Elliott man accused of killing girlfriend

December 13, 2006 By admin

A trial date has been set for a western Iowa man charged with the strangling a woman and dumping her body down a well. The Pottawattamie County Attorney’s office says 25-year-old Daniel E. Miller of Elliott will stand trial February 27th in connection with the murder of his girlfriend, 24-year old April Sheree Corter of Red Oak.

Corter’s body was found in an abandoned farm well near Oakland late last month. She was reported missing October 13 but was last seen September 26th, the day authorities think she died by Miller’s hands. When her body was recovered, her hands and feet were bound with plastic wire ties. Miller’s arraignment is set for December 27th in Pott County District Court. He is currently being held in the Pottawattamie County jail on two-million dollars bond.
