Sen. Grassley still running down New Year’s resolution from ’99

January 2, 2007 By admin

While many of us are making New Year’s resolutions this week, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says he’s not much into making a big display of annual proclamations.

Grassley says “No, but I’ll give you an update on (a resolution) I made eight years ago that I still kept. I decided to run, jog, whatever you want to call it and I started that eight years ago and it’s the only New Year’s resolution I ever kept and I ran yesterday on the anniversary of it and I haven’t made any new ones since. I probably made some before but didn’t keep ’em.”

Grassley, who is 73, says he tries to take a jog every day, usually around 5:30 in the morning.
