Fire destroys business building in Monona

January 17, 2007 By admin

Investigators in Monona in northern Iowa near the Minnesota border are looking for the cause of an overnight fire that destroyed part of a local business. Firefighters were called out at about 9:30 last night to Art’s Way Scientific Building in Monona, on the report that one of the company’s three buildings was on fire.

A total of six area departments responded to the fire, but could not save the building. No one was reported injured, however fire crews also had to battle the freezing cold. A nearby gas station was used as a break area to warm up. Art’s Way Scientific makes modular research facilities, and employs 35 people.
