Students escape injury in bus accident

Students riding a school bus escaped injury this morning as the bus was hit head-on by a car near West Union. Officials with the Fayette County sheriff’s office say the North Fayette school bus was stopped about a mile north of West Union this morning when it was struck by a car driven by 20-year-old Zakeria Larter, of West Union.

Officials say Larter was trying to stop when his car slid on the ice.There were 15 students on the bus. Although no injuries were reported, the students and the driver of the bus, 75-year-old Donald Miller of West Union, were taken to a hospital to be checked out.
