Three new ethanol plants planed for Northern Iowa

January 18, 2007 By admin

Northern Iowa is in line for three more ethanol plants. Texas-based Harvest Biofuels is announcing plans to build three virtually identical factories in the region: near Galbraith in Kossuth County, near Garner in Hancock County and near Gilmore City in Pocahontas County.

The plants are expected to have a combined output of 300-million gallons of the corn-based fuel per year. Iowa leads the nation in ethanol production with 25 plants now in operation and 21 expanding or under construction.
