Grinnell police nab fugitive from Mississippi

June 26, 2007 By admin

Grinnell police arrested one of Mississippi’s most-wanted men Sunday. A Grinnell police news release states that police received information about a kidnapping suspect traveling in the Grinnell area, possibly with a juvenile victim in the car. Officers Stuart Fricke and Chris Wray located the vehicle on Highway 146 in Grinnell and stopped it.

The driver was identified as 30-year-old Lamont Roundtree of Mississippi. A 15-year-old female was in the car. Roundtree was arrested for Kidnap Minor to Sexually Assault on a Mississippi felony warrant.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the United States Marshal Service is investigating further. The juvenile has been turned over to the Iowa Department of Human Services.
